CHATTANOOGA—Chattanooga Mocs Senior Affiliate Athletics Director Ken Jones is serving his first of 4 phrases on the NCAA Division I Males’s Golf Committee in 2023-24. He represents the East Area as a part of his duties.
Jones is in his 10th 12 months at UTC, working because the lead compliance officer for the Mocs. Along with these duties, he’s the executive oversight of the boys’s and ladies’s golf applications and serves as an integral member of the athletics government group.
“Ken is a proficient member of our group and does a superb job as oversight of our golf applications,” said Vice-Chancellor for Athletics Mark Wharton. “It’s thrilling to see members of our employees serve in management roles within the NCAA, and I do know he’ll do an amazing job on the committee.”
The 6-member committee is chargeable for the choice and seeding of the competing groups within the NCAA Division I Males’s Golf Championships. Jones and the committee work with the Golf Coaches Affiliation of America relating to NCAA Championships format, scoring, media and components influencing NCAA males’s golf.
Jones helped lead the hiring search that introduced present males’s head coach Blaine Woodruff to Chattanooga. That transfer paid off nicely with the Mocs advancing to the NCAA Championships in Woodruff’s first season.
